My Archies Original Thongs are too hard what do I do?Updated 4 days ago
Archies Original Thongs have a special footbed that moulds to the shape of your feet as you wear them. When they are new, the material still needs to soften and shape to suit your feet. This could also be a reason for the arch feeling uncomfortable for some. Don't worry, with wear, this will improve!
How to wear them in
The best way to customize the footbed of Archies Original Thongs to your feet is to gradually wear them in. We recommend wearing them for 20 mins a day. This will allow the footbed to mould to your feet with minimal discomfort. It will also give your feet time to adapt to the support.
Short on time or perhaps find the arch too high? Heat moulding sorts it out!
Archies Original Thongs are made from a special form of foam that responds to heat. When heated, the material will become soft and mouldable, so heating them and then standing on them will customize the footbed to your feet. If the strap and toe pole is feeling tight, we also recommend stretching them while the material is warm.
Here's how to heat mould your Archies Original Thongs
1. Place the pair on a flat surface - make sure there is nothing flammable in the vicinity.
2. Position the hair dryer 3cm away from the straps.
3. Turn on the hair dryer and heat up the band for 45 seconds. You can move it slowly across the straps so the heat distributes evenly. Make sure that it's not too close to the straps so that it doesn't cause it to wilt or wither.
4. Once warmed, put the pair on and stand on one foot and then the other - this will mould the footbed to your feet.
5. Wear them in short stints, 20–30 minutes at a time, gradually increasing, so the foam shapes to your foot with regular wear.
You can repeat this as many times as necessary until the thongs have moulded perfectly to your feet.
