What are Archies Thick Thongs?
Archies Thick Thongs are the newest addition to the Archies range. They offer the same signature arch support as Archies Original Thongs, with a softer, higher-rebound version of our Highly Specialised foam material for extra cushioning underfoot. Plus, they have wider straps for a bit more coverage across the foot.
How much are they?
Archies Thick Thongs are $60 AUD.
What size should I get?
The best way to find your size is to measure your foot length or choose your standard running shoe size.

How are they different from Archies Original Thongs?
Both styles share the same signature arch support and one-piece construction, so you're not compromising on the core Archies feel either way. Archies Thick Thongs use the same Highly Specialised foam material as Archies Original Thongs, just formulated to be softer and higher-rebound, paired with a more elevated footbed platform for a plusher, more cushioned feel underfoot. The strap is also thicker, giving more surface area across your foot, and there's a heel-to-toe pitch elevation that helps reduce strain on your calf and Achilles, improves load distribution, and takes pressure off the ball of your foot.
How do they fit?
Archies Thick Thongs fit true to size. Please allow a few days for the strap and footbed to settle in for the best fit.
What colours will they come in?
Black, Brown, Taupe and Navy.
How do I look after them?
Wipe them clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid leaving them in direct sun or a hot car.
How much arch support do they have?
Archies Thick Thong features the same signature arch support as Archies Original Thong, up to 2.2cm of arch support built into the footbed. Because Archies Thick Thongs have a softer footbed and a bit more heel pitch elevation, the arch can feel slightly different underfoot compared to Archies Original Thongs, even though the degree of support itself is identical.
How high is the heel pitch?
Archies Thick Thongs have an elevated heel pitch of up to 9mm, depending on size. This elevation helps reduce strain on the calf muscles and Achilles tendon, promotes better foot positioning and alignment, and takes pressure off the ball of the foot.
What sizes are available?
US4 to US13.
My straps feel too tight; what do I do?
The straps can be stretched! Archies Thick Thongs have been intentionally designed with tighter straps than standard thongs because this is better for your feet. If the straps feel too tight, you can easily stretch the straps and toe posts with your hands until they reach your desired fit. Check out our How to Stretch the Straps video. It’s very common to need to stretch the straps when you first receive a new pair.
My straps feel too loose; what do I do?
It's worth giving them a few days of wear first, as the footbed can settle in a little around your foot. If they're still feeling loose after that, reach out, and we'll help arrange an exchange for a smaller size.
How thick are they?
Archies Thick Thongs are up to 1.2cm thicker than the Archies Original Thongs, depending on size.
What are they made of?
Archies Thick Thongs are made from the same Highly Specialised foam material as Archies Original Thongs, just formulated to be softer and higher-rebound for extra cushioning and support underfoot.
Are they a rocker bottom?
No - Archies Thick has a flat sole, which keeps things feeling stable and natural underfoot.
Do they have a warranty?

There's a small ridge/seam along the edge of mine. Is that normal?
Yes. What you're seeing is the parting line of the mould. A small amount of material along this seam is completely normal for any Highly Specialised foam material footwear. Because Archies Thick Thong uses a softer material, this flashing can be a bit more noticeable than it is on Archies Original Thongs, but it isn't a fault.
Are they non-slip?
Archies Thick Thongs are not non-slip. They have been designed for everyday grip and traction. As with any footwear, take extra care on very wet or highly polished surfaces.
